Spring on the Slopes

Love spring skiing? The resorts will be kicking up the fun with some fun and unique springtime events.  Mix in a summer sport with the snow and skis and be prepared for some unforgettable moments. 
  

Ski or snowboard down a slope and across the pond and hope to make it all the way to the other side before sinking into the water.  The more outrageous the costume you wear while doing it, the better!  If falling into the ice water isn't appealing, spectating is equally as fun. Bring your cowbells, yells, shouts and good spirits.  Check it out at Squaw Valley and Northstar.

Nine holes of golf on a course that is only open once a year?  That’s right, Alpine Meadows will hold the 34th Annual Snow Golf Tournament.  The nine hole golf course starts at the top of Summit Express Chair and meanders its way down the mountain with the last hole bringing competitors back to the bottom of Alpine Bowl Chair.  Go ahead, try something new!  
  

Northstar has the first two weeks in April packed with summer on the snow games.  Get your team of 4 together for a snow volleyball tournament or enjoy free play after the tournament on Saturday, April 8th.  The next weekend spend your ski breaks playing snow horse shoes or bocce ball by the Summit Deck and Grill.  All week long face painting and balloons will make the springtime at Northstar fun for everyone.
