The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe is nestled at the heart of Northstar mountain, surrounded by giant pine trees, ski runs and stunning views in every direction. There are options to own a condominium residence, to stay as a guest in the hotel, or to come visit this inviting iconic property for a day trip or evening dinner. Just being at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe is a delightful adventure in itself as there are always many fun activities planned each season, all year long.





This winter, the Ritz-Carlton hosts "Marshmology, the art of the S'more" every day between 4:30pm and 5pm on the ski deck. This complementary event provides house-made marshmallows and all the fixings for a truly unique s’more.


Also on the deck each afternoon from 12pm – 5pm is a raw bar featuring shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half shell and ceviche. A perfect pairing with Moët & Chandon for a cheers to another unforgettable spring day on the slopes.


A can't-miss dining experience is the renowned Manzanita Restaurant for lunch, brunch or evening fine fare and cocktails. Sunday Brunch features a chilled seafood display, carving station along with signature dishes that are unforgettable. For dinner, with advanced reservations indulge in a chef’s menu with a culinary journey and personal interrelation with the chef Stephen Toevs at Manzanita. Some more scrumptious options include the Backyard Bar & Grill (outdoor deck dining/apres ski), The Living Room (casual setting surrounding the fireplace) and Café Blue (coffee and light fare).

There is plenty to explore for visitors of all ages. The kids are sure to have fun with games like "Where Is The Bear", a hunt for the a stuffed teddy bear or the scavenger hunt, a hunt for specifics around the hotel.  Kids will have a fun filled task to search the building for treasure to win a prize.  Ritz Kids is always available for all day, 2 hours or anything in-between.  Kids will engage in activities that encourage interaction with the mountain setting in a fun and creative way.  On Fridays, complimentary popcorn and beverages are served which is perfect to fuel up before the whole family converges at the arcade for pinball, basketball games, air hockey or Guitar Hero.

Northstar is always striving to be the number one resort in the area when it comes to customer service and being known as the most family friendly ski resort. In 2015 Ski Magazine named Northstar a Top-Ranked Ski Resort and Vail Resorts continues to seek ways to improve each year. There are many small details that go into making the Northstar experience unforgettable and unparalleled anywhere in the area. Check out some of the weekly events below to enhance your next Northstar trip.
 

Open With Ski Patrol
Get the first tracks on a powder day or on the fresh corduroy at 7:30am. Yes, you can experience the good stuff (without the hard work of actually being part of ski patrol). Sign up by 3pm the day before you would like to “Open with Ski Patrol”. Meet with a patroller at the top of the gondola at 7:30am and ski with one of these mountain masters before the lifts are open to the public. There is also an option to help patrol with the closing sweep at the end of the day.


Meet the Mountain with Mountain Safety
Want to figure out this mountain the easy way? On Saturday & Sundays in January at 10am and 1pm, Northstar’s Mountain Safety Team is offering guided mountain tours. Meet at the top of the Big Springs Gondola and let your Northstar adventure begin!


Grooming Show & Tell
Every Saturday in January, Northstar’s Grooming Team will be holding a Cat Show & Tell from 10am to 2pm at the top of the Zephyr lift. Come and find out how Northstar creates and keeps such great groomed trails. Drivers will be available to answer any questions for guests.

 
Ripperoo Parades
Come celebrate the end of the day with Northstar’s mascot, Ripperoo (the dog). Every Saturday at 4pm, he will lead his ski school friends in a parade through the Village at Northstar. No need to bring anything but a smile. Noise makers and toys will be provided for this dance around the Village!

Every day at 2pm, Northstar welcomes you to join fellow skiers and snowboarders for a complimentary glass of bubbly on East Ridge. Raise a glass and celebrate friends, snow and all things Tahoe.


S’moresWhat is the perfect snack for after the on-mountain champagne toast? Head down to the Village for s'mores around the ice rink. Every day at 3:30pm, the Northstar team delivers this delicious treat to all resort guests. Cozy up next to the fire pits by the ice rink and chow down!
