There are always great options for food and drinks in Truckee like Pianeta for dinner, Old Town Tap for lunch and Alibi Ale Works for some good beer. While these places have great options every night, sometimes it’s fun to slip out of town and up to Northstar for a special night.

Head up to The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe on Sunday nights for a cocktail class. Classes take place in the main bar at Manzanita restaurant. Nestled into the Northstar ski hill, views out to the slopes certainly enhance the setting of this event. The night is action packed experimenting with ingredients like freshly cut herbs, infused liqueurs and classic ingredients like whiskey and vodka. You will learn about and enjoy 3 unique cocktails and each is paired with appetizers. Enjoy!

Zephyr Lodge

The Mountain Table Dinners take place several times over the winter and are an event you will be thinking about all year. Experience the mountain after hours and the magic of Northstar in the evening. A ride on the Big Springs Gondola starts the adventure to mid-mountain where you hop on the Zephyr Gondola or a very unique “sleigh” ride pulled by a snow cat for the fresh air approach up the mountain. Dinner is hosted at the Zephyr Lodge with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the mountains as the sun sets. Get ready to cozy up for a night of locally sourced food and wine pairings. Each night features a highly distinguished wine representative from the California wine country like SIMI Winery, Rodney Strong and more. Elegantly crafted courses keep the night going, accompanied by live music and great wine, it’s time to sit back and enjoy.

S'moresapalooza at Northstar

A perfect end to a perfect ski day? S'mores of course. Northstar has taken the love of S'mores to a new level. On February 27th, Northstar is hosting "S'moresapalooza"- an afternoon event to celebrate everyone's favorite gooey winter treat. 

The festivities will start at 2PM with music on the Northstar Village stage. At 3:30 there will be free S'mores in the Village before the "S'mores Walk". A handful of Village businesses are stops on the S'mores walk. Mikuni will be providing S'mores Bark, AGL will have a S'mores cookie bar, the Beach Area will have a S'mores Pop, Starbucks will be showcasing a S'mores Crispy Treat, and Butterbox tops it off with S'mores Shooters. 

Ripperoo will be hosting a S'mores roast at the Overlook Bar starting at 4:30. 

At 5:30 the DJ will begin performing on the Village Stage, this may be a good opportunity to burn off some S'mores calories with some dancing.

Are you ready for a new dining experience in Tahoe?  Northstar has just the thing for an unforgettable night out.  Come and experience the Mountain Table Dinner Series at Northstar.  Start the night out in the Village at Northstar.  Maybe even stop into Chocolate Bar for a pre-dinner cocktail. At 5:30pm board the Big Springs Gondola and head up to mid-mountain and then onto the Zephyr gondola to find your way to Northstar’s newest mountain modern lodge.  This 17,000 square foot building features one entire wall of floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the Sierra Crest and over the Truckee River corridor to the Squaw Valley peaks.  The views are truly breathtaking. 

With family style seating, you will be encouraged to meet new friends, celebrate with old friends,  and toast to good times together.  Zephyr Lodge Executive Chef Chad Shrewsbury will take you through a unique five course meal featuring local and regionally sourced produce and proteins.  Each evening will  feature a wine or special brew that will be served to compliment each course.  Not only will you be in it for a good night but in it for a good cause too, Northstar will be donating to a local non-profit for each dinner of the series.
