Opening Day at Lake Tahoe

The Memorial Day holiday weekend marks the beginning of summer fun and festivities at Lake Tahoe. There will be a variety of events such as live music, tours and beach openings to kick off the season all around the lake.

Lakeside restaurants that are synonymous with summer in Tahoe such as Chambers Landing, Sunnyside, Jake’s on the Lake, Garwoods and West Shore Café all have festivities planned. The Bridgetender will open their riverside dining and the Firesign Café will open their outdoor deck for their legendary breakfast and lunch offerings.

Iconic historical museums and sites around the lake are opening this weekend including the Gatekeepers Museum in Tahoe City, the Ehrman Mansion at Sugarpine Point State Park and tours will start for the season at Vikingsholm in Emerald Bay.

Meeks Bay beach, resort, and marina will be open to the public starting on Friday the 25th. Obexers marina will open for the season this weekend including the market and deli, and rental operations. Homewood High and Dry Marina will be open as well.

It’s time to think summer and to get ready for a whole new season of adventures in and around Lake Tahoe.
