Tahoe: A Visual History

Tahoe: A Visual History

The Nevada Museum of Art in Reno just opened a new exhibit featuring a unique historical collection from painters, photographers, architects, basket weavers and sculptors whose works are focused on the North Lake Tahoe area.

The visual works will take you through the ages with Native Americans, the transcontinental railroad, tourism, and the ever changing architecture and environment. This is the first comprehensive exhibition to survey artworks related to Lake Tahoe, Donner Pass and the surrounding Sierra region.

Encompassing 15,000 square feet, the museum will span over two centuries of cultural, geographical and creative history. Including original maps of Lake Tahoe, historical paintings from the 19th century, 150 years of photography, contemporary arts and so much more in-between.

The show will run through January 10th, 2016. You will not want to miss this trip through time centered around one of the most beautiful places on earth.
