Lakefront Restaurant Deck Openings
Lakefront Restaurant Deck Openings
Chambers Landing Bar and Restaurant Opened May 12 just in time for Mother’s Day. With the bar perched out on a dock and accessible by boat, this is one of Lake Tahoe’s oldest bars.
Sunnyside will hold their 29th Anniversary and Deck Opening Party May, 27th, Memorial Day Weekend. Come join in the silent auction, raffle, live music and of course, food served on their legendary lakefront deck.
Jake’s on the Lake will kick off the deck season Friday, June 3. With live music from one of Tahoe's best bands-Ike & Martin, it is sure to be a fun party.
West Shore Café will be hosting their annual Deck Opening Party on Sunday, June 12 from 11am to 9pm. By this time the gorgeous summer weather should be upon us and this will be a perfect stop while boating on the lake.

Manzanita
Manzanita
The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe
Treat yourself to the fine dinning option at the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe and come to lunch or dinner at Manzanita. An experience and a delicious meal that you will come back for year after year.
Whether you are staying in the hotel or just up for the day, it’s worth your time to have a meal at Manzanita. With fresh, local and organic ingredients, the flavors radiate with each bite. You can’t really go wrong when ordering, but some favorites are the braised short ribs that will fall off the bone at first touch, you never thought trout could be so delicious! And the burger is the best in Tahoe, tried and true.
Don’t miss the special event this Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Manzanita. Celebrity chef Dean Fearing and author of “The Texas Food Bible” will host a pop-up style restaurant in Manzanita for the evening preparing a 5-course menu for guests. Sure to be a fun night.
$110 per person, $150 per person with wine pairings.

If you’re staying at the hotel, easy and convenient, Manzanita is located on the main floor of the Ritz-Carlton.
If you’re in the Village at Northstar, hop on the Highlands gondola (free for pedestrians without ski equipment). This 8 minute ride will drop you on the back patio of the hotel. From there, take a left and head down the stairway and into the hotel. Down the hall and the restaurant is there on the right.
If you are coming from outside of Northstar, head to the Ritz-Carlton via Highlands View Road off of HWY 267. This scenic 3 mile drive up to the hotel is beautiful. At the top of the hill, just past mid-mountain at Northstar, turn left into the entrance of The Ritz-Carlton. Valet parking only that will be discounted with restaurant validation.
Bon Apetite!

Red Truck: A Great Little Lunch Spot
Red Truck: Food Truck Revolution
The Red Truck started out as Truckee's favorite food truck. It would be quite the game to follow the @RedTruckeTahoe twitter feed to find out where you could get those delicious bite size tacos, naan dogs or chicken takka masala bowl. But when one found that bright red truck or saw it while cruise'n through town, you couldn't help but stop.
Now, it's a different story for our favorite eating spot. You can count on it every week at Truckee Thursday's in downtown Truckee in the Summer and all year round, Monday through Friday, at the Truckee Airport. And if you're really lucky, you might run into them at a wedding or private event, a great choice for catering any event!
My favorite has always been the bowl with falafel or chicken tikka masala but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The flavors are mainly based on the Indian traditions and ingredients are organic, sustainable, and fresh. Chef Larry really does know how to make your taste buds sing.
When you go, don't forget to add the side sauces to your dish. The green one is my favorite and the least spicy, the red one is yummy and the yellow one will knock your socks off (go for it if you like it HOT!). And for the sweet tooth in the family, you have to add a cookie for desert. They are baked in house and are amazing!
See you at the Red Truck!
